Dream #2...or...Why India? (part 2)

"And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people.  Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions."  Joel 2:28

I am so very grateful that the God of the Universe wants to speak to us.  I know that in my own life, I haven't always been receptive to His voice.  But, I know that He does speak and I know that there is a quality to His voice that is like no other.

Sometimes He speaks through other people, often He speaks through Scripture, sometimes He speaks through a still, small voice, occasionally He speaks audibly and sometimes He speaks through dreams and visions (among other ways).

As I mentioned in an earlier post, God has been leading me to India for almost two years now.  I haven't always seen that this is where He was leading, but I did know that He was doing SOMETHING.  I share this for your encouragement!  Our God loves to lead and guide us. When we are receptive to His voice, He has so much to share.  But, even when we make mistakes along the way (of which, I am an expert!), He is patient and kind if He sees that our hearts truly are towards Him.

I shared a dream that God gave me a couple of years ago in this post, before I had even heard of SCH.  About 8 months ago, he gave me another dream.  At this point, I still didn't know that I would visit SCH, but I did know that God was trying to tell me something.  Don't you just LOVE that?!  THE GOD OF THE UNIVERSE was trying to tell me something.  How incredible is that?!  And He wants to tell you many things, as well.  Just too amazing!!

But, anyway, back to the dream.  Here's what I wrote in my journal:

I was at my parent's house.  I looked outside and noticed their shed in the back yard.  I suddenly remembered that I was supposed to have been taking care of our neighbor's animals and that I had left them in the shed.  I didn't really know how many there were and went cautiously out to the shed.  I was afraid for what I'd find.  David was with me.

When we got to the shed, we looked in the window and could see a number of cats curled up, as if sleeping.  I opened the door and the first cat got slowly up.  It came out the door and shook itself.  Most of its hair flew off with the shake.  At least three other cats followed the first--all in a similar, scraggly, pathetic fashion.

I ran to the house to get food and water.  David had brought out some food from somewhere also.  I put it on the deck for the first cat and then went in to get more.

I looked out of the window, and a huge, cartoon-like animal was approaching the first cat.  Off in the distance, I heard someone yell, "wolf!"  The wolf was about to devour the skinny cat.  I was afraid, but I went out and stamped my foot on the deck.  I walked closer to the wolf--yelling for it to leave.  It slowly sauntered away.

I thought that we'd need to bathe the cats.  I looked down and the cat had turned into a child.  The child had sores on his head and all of his hair was matted down.

I called to David because I knew that there was at least one dog that I was supposed to have been caring for.  He said that he would go and check whether the rest of the animals were alive or not.

And then I woke up...The dream was very vivid and when I woke up, I immediately wrote it down in my journal.  Why?  Because it had a certain quality about it that I knew was the Lord.

He speaks to us, friends!!  He leads and guides us!!!  And in this dream, He was conveying His heart for those who are outcast and forgotten.  He LOVES them with a love beyond compare.

Shortly after I had this dream, SCH doubled in size.  They took in many, many children who had been forgotten by most, and who had even been left to die, in some cases.  But God had not forgotten them.  He is far too kind to forget any of His precious children.

Jesus, help me to never forget your dear ones.  Help me to remember your love for those who are lost and lonely, and for those who seem to have it all together.  Each one desperately needs You.  I desperately need You.  Show me Your heart, dear Father.  I just want to have more of Your heart.

Sarah,

Thank you for sharing. It is always interesting, and encouraging, to hear of the different ways that the Lord is speaking to His children. I love the way He has been working India into your heart, bit, by bit, by bit.

Blessings-

Tina
