It simply amazes me that the King of the Heavens loves to speak with you and me.
The Creator of All Things enjoys our company and He loves to let us be a part of what He is doing on the earth.
Really, what could be more remarkable?

Yesterday, I mentioned that I had a prayer request--one in which I couldn't share all of the details.
Today, we heard some encouraging news.
I still can't share much, but I just wanted to let you know that God answers our prayers!
(He is just so kind like that.)
And I wanted to thank those of you who prayed.
Please, please, keep praying!
I promise that I will share at some point (hopefully sooner, rather than later!).

And while we're on the subject of prayer, I wanted to thank those of you who prayed a few weeks ago for a difficult situation that a friend of ours had been having.  And while the situation is still not resolved, we have all been learning so very much through this difficulty.  I am just so grateful for our Precious Lord who never lets us walk through hardship alone.  He is good all the time.

And I am so very grateful for brothers and sisters in the Lord who love to help carry a burden, who run to Jesus on behalf of a friend (even if they don't know all of the details of what to pray).
Thank you, friends.
Thank you.

Praying that you had a blessed Easter,
celebrating the great love of our precious Savior, Jesus!

Here's our second annual cul-de-sac chalk drawing.

Last year's drawing can be seen here

The middle school boys did an oral presentation of 1 Corinthians 13.
(sorry for the blurry photo!)

And the girls worshiped with flags.

I'm trying to get organized and do a couple of posts about all that I learned at the Empowered to Connect conference...hopefully soon!

Also, I have a prayer request...something exciting, and I wish I could say more
(but I can't).
Could you just pray that God's perfect will would be done?
Thanks so much, friends.

grateful

I am so very grateful to all of you who gave so generously towards Genevieve's surgery...you'll be glad to know that her surgery is now fully funded!  I'll be sure to keep you updated regarding the timing and outcome of the surgery.  Thank you for your kindness towards this precious little sweetheart!

One of the things that is very important for the beautiful children who live at Sarah's Covenant Homes is that they have the opportunity to attend school.  As you probably realize, attending school is not the norm for orphaned children in India.  It's also not the norm for Christian children to be able to attend school.  One incredibly bright little girl, who lived in the state-run orphanage before moving to SCH, was absolutely thrilled to be given the chance to attend school, and she's making amazing strides.  These children realize what a gift it is to be able to learn!!

Of couse, for many of the children, going to school is new for them.  They are behind their peers academically, but they are working hard to make up for lost time.  Would you be willing to help sponsor these children's education for the coming school year?  There are 21 children who will be going to school, starting in June.  Here are a couple of their sweet faces:

And here's the whole group of school kids.
Aren't they adorable?!

I'm adding a chip-in on the sidebar.
Please consider helping these precious darlings.
Honestly, you will never know how much this means to the lives of these wonderful children.

thousands of moments...

Wednesday, April 13, 2011

It takes thousands of moments,

thousands of look-you-in-the-eyes,
tell you that you're precious,
I'll love you forever
and never leave you
moments...

to heal the heart of a child.

Enjoy your moments today...

Wow!!

Wow!

really

Wow!

I am so grateful to Shonni, who mentioned on her blog on Thursday, that she was going to the Empowered to Connect conference in Denver.

Wow!

It was so good.

If you have adopted children (or are thinking of adopting children) and have the opportunity to hear Karen Purvis speak, definitely do it.  She was w.o.n.d.e.r.f.u.l.

Wish I had heard some of this stuff 10 years ago,
but am incredibly grateful that I'm learning it now.

I'll share some highlights in the next couple of posts.

Seeking to embrace this more fully in my life...

Wednesday, April 6, 2011

Abundance isn't God's provision for me to live in luxury.  It's his provision for me to help others live...Why does God give some of his children more than they need and others less than they need?  He does it to teach his children to help each other.  God distributes wealth unevenly, not because he loves some of his children more than others, but so his children can distribute it to their brothers and sisters on his behalf.  He doesn't want us to have too little or too much (Proverbs 30 :8-9).  When those with too much give to those with too little, two problems are solved.  When they don't, two problems are perpetuated.

havin' a little fun

Just havin' a little fun with my Asian beauties...

We've been having fun watching videos like this one, where this adorable Japanese girl shows super-quick hairstyles that work perfectly on Lily and Grace's hair.

Now, I just need to find a site with quick, curly hair-do's for my Ukrainian princess.

Any suggestions...?

We're almost to our goal for Genevieve's surgery!
If you'd like to buy a necklace, there are a couple left (post below), and we can make more of any of the styles that have already been sold.

I'm so proud of my kiddos.
They really have done all of the work (emails, jewelery-making, blog posts, lemonade sales, etc.) in raising the money for Genevieve's surgery. It's so fun for them to see how God can take the little things that they offer, and turn them into something much bigger!

Thanks so much for all of your generosity towards this sweet girl!
