A question for all of you China families!

Thursday, January 3, 2013

Hello all!

I meant to ask this question before we left for China, but time got away from me and I forgot to ask.

Can anyone tell me about the church on the island (the name and where it's located)? We'd love to go there on Sunday, but don't know where it is.

Thanks so much!!!!

We're off to Kaikai's medical appointment today, but have the weekend free.

I don't recall the name of the Church on the island - but I know where it is! There is a street that runs directly from the White Swan hotel to the canal between the island and the mainland. If you are standing with the hotel to your back there will be a row of shops to your right - the Church is about 50 yards up that street to your left. It's non-demoninational Christian. There is also a Roman Catholic Church on the island - but it's never been used during out two trips to the island - and both times was all closed and locked up. However - the building is attractive from the outside if you like to look at stuff like that!

Chiming in at the last minute . . .Yes, yes, yes, if you can go to the service go--it still gives me goosebumps to think about it! I remember standing outside the church waiting on the first service to get out, so that we could go in, and it started raining hard. A young Chinese woman, also waiting to go in, stepped over and held her own umbrella over Teddi and I. Such a kind gesture, that spoke volumes to my heart! And worshiping with Chinese brothers and sisters--such a sweet, sweet time.

Also, Susan's Place (of Dong and Susan fame) is right there near the church. I heard (via Robin Haines) that the church is using the old Susan's Place for an extra building and that Dong and Susan were in another building. If you've never met Dong and Susan they are the best!

I hope you get to go to church, I'll be waiting to hear!

Love from Texas~

Oh yes...Dong and Susan are awesome! Greg (my hubby) actually led Susan to Christ while we were there adopting Lottie:) He even wrote to her for a couple of years after we got home until he accidently used the word "Jesus" and then they were cut off...poo! I am probably late telling you this since today is Monday (wink) but it is just called the "Christ Church".
Love you!!!!
