Again?! (updated)

Friday, June 29, 2012

Saturday:  Grace is about the same today. She only threw up once yesterday and was able to keep down some ibuprofin, which helps with the pain. She also kept down a couple of popsicles this morning, so that's good. We got back the results from her CBC (complete blood count). The only thing that was way out of normal range was her platelets (anyone have any experience with this?). The doctor didn't seem too concerned. We won't get the other blood tests back until Monday. Please keep praying for our little girl. She feels so yucky.

Would you please pray again for Grace? She hasn't eaten all day, nor has she drunk anything. Her stomach is hurting, as well. I took her back to our doctor and David is now taking her to get her blood drawn again. Friends, she is absolutely terrified of needles at this point. I've never seen anything like it. Would you please pray for her little heart? It is clear that her fear is a result of trauma (perhaps when she had surgery in China...?). Our doctor said that she may have celiac disease or a dairy allergy. He said that allergies can come on suddenly sometimes. All that I know for sure is that she is scared and in pain right now.

Thank you so much for praying.

Poor Grace . . . I hope she finds some relief soon. And poor parents, too -- it is so difficult to see your children in pain. You have our prayers!

Praying for your dear sweet little girl- God bless her!

I overcame my fear of needles when I had Mono in HS- every week they took blood- I was very very sick with yellow eyes.

I got used to blood draws by default.

Praying sweet Grace's fears are calmed thru faith...

HUGS
to her Momma!

Oh goodness, so sorry to hear this Sarah. Praying for your precious Grace, and for your hurting heart as you help her through this . . .

Lord, please bring healing to Grace's body. Bring peace to her mama and daddy's hearts, and to Grace's as well. Help Grace to be brave, and give the doctors wisdom as they treat her. Touch her little body from head to toe Lord, and give her health. In Jesus name, Amen

Love you Sarah,

Tina

When Charu was so sick her platelets where the only thing that was off and they were pretty off. The doctors didn't seem too worried about it for Charu in the end either. Praying all is well soon!!!

Oh Sarah--how hard. I am so sorry. The not knowing what this is must just be so difficult.

I was wondering if you could try coconut water. It can taste bad but you can get chocolate flavored coconut water that isn't so bad. Also, I remember you saying Grace liked Sprite so perhaps you could mix one part coconut water (it is clear) with one part Sprite. You may already know this, but they used coconut water in place of blood for transfusions during WWII. It has amazing hydrating powers--balances electrolytes naturally. Far far better than sports drinks. And it sounds like, at this point, Grace's electrolytes could be completely wacky and that would just add to more vomiting and dehydration.

Just a thought. I will be praying.

Much love,

Heidi
