So very grateful for Mary and Joseph today.
They were breakthrough people
who followed the call of the Father
wherever He would lead.
Just imagine if they hadn't...
Aunt Joyce does it again!

Remember this?!
Aunt Joyce gave Jadon this incredible popsicle-maker when he had his surgery in August. We've had so much fun with it!
And now, Aunt Joyce has done it again!
This time, she gave us a wonderful gingerbread house mold.
It's really elaborate.
We all had a great time with the gingerbread house construction.
Look at those dormers!
After a lot of candy-application (and a lot of candy-eating), the house is almost complete.
And here's the finished product.
Thanks so much, Aunt Joyce!
We had a great time.
There was once a little girl...

There was once a little girl,
who longed for paper.
This little girl had a very special talent,
given to her by God.
And what was that talent?
...to remember lines,
and shapes
and
colors...
and to put them down on paper.
The problem was,
there was never enough paper.
Until one day,
God answered the prayers
of a mama's heart,
and He brought that little girl
into a new home,
where there was lots of paper.
Admittedly,
there wasn't as much paper in the new home, as the little girl would have liked.
But, soon the mama and the daddy learned to buy
lots
and lots
and lots
of paper,
so the little girl could use her special talent.
Five-and-a-half years down the road,
and thousands of pieces of paper later,
that little girl young lady still loves to draw.
Here are some of Yana's most recent creations:
where is love...?

Where is love?
Does it fall from skies above?
Is it underneath the willow tree
That I've been dreaming of?
Where is she...
whom I close my eyes to see
will I ever know the sweet, hello
that's meant for only me?
Who can say where she may hide?
Must I travel far and wide?
'Til I am beside...
the someone who,
I can mean, something to.
where?
where?
where is love?
Where is love?
Does it fall from skies above?
Is it underneath the willow tree
That I've been dreaming of?
Evert night I kneel and pray...
let tommorrow be the day
'Til I am beside...
the someone who,
I can mean, something to.

another note...

Somehow, if you meet Lily, it just makes sense that she would have written that last note.
In fact, she frequently writes notes or says things that leave David and I chuckling, and shaking our heads.
Here's another example (from last Christmas):
In fact, she frequently writes notes or says things that leave David and I chuckling, and shaking our heads.
Here's another example (from last Christmas):
Notice, that the third reason that Lily thinks I am nice is because, "When your with me a nice warm feeling comes to me."
Oh, Lily-girl, you give me a nice warm feeling inside
and
you keep me on my toes!
I love you, sweet thing.
the note...

I'm thinking that this child may end up in therapy due to early childhood dishwashing trauma.
Any guesses as to which one of my little darlin's wrote this note...?
oh...happy day

Was it really fifteen years ago?
That I made one of the best decisions of my life?
to marry this incredible guy...
We had a wonderful time, on Thanksgiving weekend, celebrating our 15th anniversary.
We stayed here...
with this incredible view...
enjoing God's creation...
and hanging out together.
We sat by the fireplace,
went for long walks,
talked, talked, talked,
and did a lot of nothing much...
It was heavenly.
Thank you for 15 incredible years, David.
I could not imagine spending my life with anyone else.
Your love and your kindness absolutely blow me away!
You are a gift to me
every day.
I love you, David!
Happy Anniversary!
It went something like this...
Monday, December 6, 2010
Lily: Mom, did you like that mint that I gave you?
Me: I'm going to eat it now.
Jadon: You're going to have a baby?
Me: uh...no. I'm going to eat a mint.
Jadon: 'Cuz I'd really like another brother.
Me: Jadon, I said a mint, not a baby.
Jadon: Mom, if you have a baby, could he be a boy and look just like Adam?
Me: Why do you want him to look like Adam?
Jadon: So the new brother could play with Grace, and Adam could always be with me.
To say that this boy loves his brother
is putting it mildly.
Only Love Lasts
Sunday, December 5, 2010
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
1 Corin. 13:1
See that only Love tells. Only what is done in Love lasts, for God is Love, and only the work of God remains.
The fame of the world, the applause given to the one who speaks with the tongues of men and of angels, who attracts admiration and compels attention, it is all given to what is passing, is really worthless, if it lacks that God-quality, Love.
Think how a smile, or a word of Love, goes winged on its way, a God-Power, simple though it may seem, while the mighty words of an orator can fall fruitless to the ground. The test of all true work and words is--are they inspired by love?
If man only saw how vain is so much of his activity! So much work done in My Name is not acknowledged by Me. As for Love. Turn out from your hears and lives all that is not loving, so shall ye bear much fruit, and by this shall all men know ye areMy disciples, because ye have Love one toward another.

worship dance
Thursday, December 2, 2010
I'm so grateful that my girls have had the opportunity to dance with the worship dance group in our town.
A couple of weeks ago, they had their winter performance.
It's such a beautiful time of worship.
Grace, and friends, before the performance.
getting ready...
Love this girl!
Lily, helping a friend get ready...
It's almost time.
Sweet little girlies, after the performance.
more sweetness...
Oh my, she's growing up!
Dad gave all of his girls flowers after the performance.
So grateful for all three of these beautiful girls!
